Kevin McCannon

Kevin is based at the KU Edwards campus in Overland Park. As a teaching-focused faculty, he enjoys supporting non-traditional and first-generation students, curriculum development, and advancing inclusive teaching strategies. He teaches a broad range of courses but focuses on health. Kevin has always been interested in strategies people use to manage their health, and recently he has begun exploring how non-tenure track faculty manage their sense of belonging and mental wellbeing and how families ‘do health’ during crises. He is also interested in active learning innovations and ways to improve students’ sense of belonging in the classroom.
